To mark the 150th year after Nicholson's birth, Rottingdean Heritage are mounting A Was an Artist, which promises to be a fascinating and important exhibition. Unlike previous, larger and more conventional Nicholson shows, this one will centre on his life in Rottingdean in the first quarter of the last century - installed, as it is, in his house there - although it will cover his early and later work too. Many of the exhibits are intimate and personal and have never been seen in public before, so this is not to be missed. It will be at The Grange Gallery, Rottingdean BN2 7HA and run from 19 June to 31 July 2022. Entrance is free.
